Hawaiian Lei O Mano War Club (4"x17") - Josway

$525.00 USD

Hawaiian Lei O Mano War Club, 4" wide x 17" long, by Hawaiian artist Josway.

A reproduction war club crafted from a flattened length of polished koa with one end carved into a handle, with an array of shark's teeth lashed to the perimeter of the club, and a natural fiber cord.  The implement was used by Polynesians, particularly Hawaiian Islanders, in battle.  Tiger shark teeth were highly prized for the purpose of making leiomano, and in ancient times, only ali'i (chiefs) were allowed to possess them.
